A CAMPUS THAT BREATHES ARCHITECTURE,
SUSPENDED BETWEEN MODERNISM AND INNOVATION.

Gateway Campus, located in Segrate on the outskirts of Milan, is a complex of buildings set within a vast green area. It is home to the historic headquarters of the Mondadori Group and stands as one of the most iconic examples of modernist architecture in Italy.

In the 1970s, Generali recognized the potential of the area near Linate Airport. Giorgio Mondadori, in search of an iconic headquarters for his publishing house, commissioned a spectacular project from architect Oscar Niemeyer.

Three main office buildings and one service building set within a 36-hectare park featuring a 20,000sq.m artificial lake.
Gateway Campus, a perfect balance between architecture and nature.

The building was inaugurated in 1975 and stands out for its bold and innovative structure: a five-storey glass parallelepiped suspended beneath a series of reinforced concrete parabolic arches. This structural solution creates a sense of lightness, with the building appearing to float above an artificial lake. It serves as the headquarters of Mondadori.

A farmhouse renovated in 2007 by architect Werner Tscholl, who preserved its original character while enhancing it with contemporary architecture.
The project combines the restoration of the historic structure with new side buildings, for a total of 4,500 sqm of office space.

A low and sinuous building, with undulating forms emerging from the water, giving the complex an organic and dynamic appearance.
